It can be intimidating to start on Bloons TD6 with all of the many towers, upgrades, maps, and game modes. 6 When In Doubt, Use Dart Monkeys

It can be especially intimidating trying to figure out where to begin on a fresh game in BTD6. However, one of the great ways to get started is to go simple and use a dart monkey. As more monkey knowledge is unlocked further in the game, more beginning options will be available due to free monkeys, more starting cash, and cheaper early towers.

However, when getting into a game for the first time, there are a lot of options, many towers to try and gain XP for, and very little clue about what’s good. Dart monkeys can be upgraded to hit camo bloons and pop lead bloons, and it will be easy to become an elite player by unlocking the first available paragon, namely the dart monkey one, by earning plenty of dart monkey XP early.

5 Learn To Farm

Whatever play style players want to get used to early on, their Bloons TD 6 life will be a lot easier if they learn some farming strategies. To beat bosses, or Impoppable especially, players need to be able to make more cash than they are going to get simply from popping bloons.

Banana farms, monkey buccaneers, and snipers with cash drops are just a few of the many ways to earn money. Bloons can even be turned into more cash using engineer bloon traps or alchemists. The simplest way to get a grip on farming is to try out some banana farms early on and to unlock further banana farm upgrades for later.

4 Variety

It is easy to begin by focusing on one particular tower in an attempt to earn a lot of XP for that tower and unlock the best upgrades it has to offer. But there are a lot of difficulties in trying to hold back the variety of bloons being sent out with just one tower. The tower will need to pop camo bloons, lead bloons, black bloons, white bloons, and MOABS later in the game.

3 MOABS

MOABS are the big structures filled with bloons that begin to appear from round 40 onwards in normal play. Boss rounds feature varieties of the usual MOABS. There are certain towers and upgrades which are good for beginners trying to learn how to take them out. For instance, bomb shooters upgraded to 0-3-0 are MOAB maulers which will do more damage specifically to MOAB-class bloons.

Top path snipers have Maim MOAB which can do massive damage specifically to these types, and top path monkey aces have special bombs added that do more damage to MOAB-class bloons as well. Learning which upgrades will target MOABS is important for surviving, especially as none of the towers will be good against MOABS if they haven’t been upgraded specifically for that purpose.

2 Learn Heroes

Another massive component of the game is the hero monkeys which players can only have one equipped at once. There are a number of options and these heroes have to be unlocked by using monkey money earned by winning games. The best hero monkeys are ones like Benjamin, who can earn money in-game and is hugely useful for tricky modes like Impoppable, or ones like Adora, who can do so much damage by herself she had to be nerfed by the game creators several times to stop her being over-powered.

Other heroes like Obyn and Sauda are good for beginners as they start dealing heavy damage early-game and will protect players well as they build other defenses. Heroes can be buffed by monkey villages and other towers, or heroes like Obyn can give buffs to druid monkeys, making for devastating later-game strategies, so keep a special eye on each hero’s strengths and weaknesses.

1 Read The Track

It is impossible to give specific advice for every one of the many tracks and game modes in the game. However, the tracks vary more than expected, and some will require specific circ*mstances or sacrifices to unlock enough space to place more towers. Alternatively, some tracks require specific types of towers to win. For example, maps with multiple tracks will be better suited to wide-range towers, like the sniper or submarine.

For this reason, players should carefully examine the track when they begin. Be careful of placement as the bad range on a tower could kill a run quickly. Making sure that the map is friendly towards the type of towers being used is critical for runs in the harder difficulties on that map, so learn the style of a map being played on quickly.
